    Happy Anniversary

    Being the Loner I am living in this virtual world,( My previous companion was cheap regular cigarettes ) After 25 years of HEAVY smoking today I mark one year with green smoke, I remember getting my first starter Kit 2 batteries charger and all, experimented with various flavors and nicotine strength, Am finally happy with the medium absolute tobacco green smoke africa has helped me regain my health, had my medicals last week and as you can guess the doc is impressed with my physicals, i am more invigorated, my office is cleaner no ash, no smelly hair clothes foul breath and I literally do not smoke between 9:00 AM and 9:00PM, food tastes better and I get away with 7 hours of sleep.............. it has worked for me

    Simple. Easy. Intuitive.

    The review title says it all, over the last 7 years I have only used Samsung Mobile phones and every year have upgraded my handset , FROM the Samsung A800 which was in vogue back then "flip with Grayscale graphic, 4 shades" and Downloadable polyphonic ring tones, I have practically used all form factors from Flip, Candy Bar , Slide, Touch, Smart, Android from the humble eclair to froyo and it would be an injustice if I did not MENTION that no one does a better DUAL sim phone than Samsung Samsung have never ceased to enthrall me with innovative features to the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab Their after Sales and support is fairly good, not to mention their phone security and anti theft measures i just love the Samsung Branded outlets at the Westgate Mall and Mama Ngina Street as well as the quality of their branded merchandise PS: one star less as I cannot figure out the "Samsung Note" and the sync software is not all that and is more like bloatware samsung truly need to improve on Kies and PC studio and avoid too many options by combining and coming up with one clean responsive software

    Safe secure convenient

    Had family visiting from Australia with an infant, this place is actually very close not only to parklands but the Central Business district as well as westlands it could actually be called the bermuda triangle as it sits bang in the middle, the whole property has CCTV surveillance, electric fence an amazing standby generator, reliable water supply given the chronic problems in nairobi- i would believe they have a borehole, a convenient restaurant, gym, squash court, walking track, pool and believe this a steam and sauna all quite reasonably priced for a serviced apartment, aaah and the best of all was a laundry so no need to transport infant clothing for my nephew back and forth

    Anxious to settle bill...........THE WAIT

    I just love my iced tea at Java, For that the three stars or would be a 2 1/2 ( Incidentally if you are searching to review a particular branch then searching for "Nairobi Java" will definitely help , I have come to terms that no two branches will have the same consistency in service let alone food, had a business lunch as usual there is always one person who will be late so finally a 12:45 meeting commenced at 1:15 and off the starting blocks for simplicity and as a time saving measure i suggested we all order the grilled fish with fries, the waitress and chef have it that much easier processing and producing the food, fish was not all that had a very bitter taste obviously hadn't been marinated well nor cleansed with salt and lemon, must be my serving as I wasn't brave enough to ask the others, possibly the fish supply was bad as i later got an allergic reaction which subsided after swallowing some antihistamine later, however the bigger external irritation was the fact that it took well over 15 minutes to get the bill and settle it owing to the fact that there was only one terminal that was processing credit cards, the management should realize that if all 40 lunch covers decided to pay by card it would be worse than the queues during the fuel shortage, and the service staff seem to be running all over the place helter skelter, so instead of leaving Java at 1:45, managed to get out at 2:05, after rummaging through my wallet for all the cash i had and managing the amount with a small tip (out of guilt and not for good service ) and you guessed it late for my next appointment

    Horse Shoe in the Private Lounge

    I must say that very few restaurants can accommodate large groups and by that I mean 20 to 40 diners, well this past Sunday we had a celebration gathering of 10 couples from our community, 20 covers and not only was the table layout amazing it was spacious allowing the waiter to serve from inside the U shaped ( horse shoe setting ) without serving over our shoulders.The inner Lounge as they call it was reserved for our group away from the other diners offering us our "own space" The Management recommended the menu and it was served clock work like there is a little factory precise timing with hardly any waiting period, although we arrived at 2 we were on desserts by quarter past three. Our Waiter Fred was amazing upto the mark, which incidentally happens to be the floor Managers name as well. 4 Starters, Sea Food, Veg and Chicken main accompanied with Rice and Noodles, desserts and soft drinks brought our average bill to 1,700 per head. There is a special starter item I have never had before Golden Fry 4 Veggies, seems Mister Wok house specialty unless the management created something off the menu Overall a great place, slightly hidden, would suggest Mister Wok invest in sign posts to compliment their ambiance, a very convenient location for the all our guest with ample parking and not your typical westlands, parklands kind of place would highly recommend Mister Wok Parklands for business lunches, gatherings, or just a change from Indian and continental

    Welcome to my branch !

    I have been a shopper at the ukay branch which then got converted to the 24 hour branch, having lived abroad (and by that i don't mean in the swedish can) i always wondered when our Kenyan shopping experience would be upgraded and Nakumatt have outdone themselves once again, what is amazing about this location is that it overcomes the challenges of finding parking and hauling my shopping trolley to the car.(With the exception of Mega on Mombasa road and the Nanyuki branch) and yes I am a raving fan so can proudly announce that i have been there as well, coming to think of it there isn't a branch i haven't been to, including the City Hall branch. anyway Nakumatt westgate is the branch and i can guarantee that it will get the most reviews and kust like Sir Richard Branson loses bet to owner of AirAsia, must shave legs to work as flight attendant in drag on flight from London to Kuala Lumpur, I am willing to take that risk and shave the owners legs and have him serve on the aisles ................. :-)

    Is my branch being deliberately being left out ????

    hey yellow .......... love the concept where i can review my favorite store etc etc , saw your advert on face book and might i add this is another addiction for me online.............. nyway .........where is my westgate branch or ukay is this a plot to make some other branch rank higher ............. nakumatt is a shopping experience and i guess we shall have a competition of why we love our respective branches more than the others ..........many many Nakumatt Raving fans will attest and swear by their branch and i can swear by westgate and ukay so over to you yellow ................

    Humble beginnings to a Diner for VIPs

    From the eighties in a shack along the railway line to a full fledged restaurant, this establishment reinforces the enterprising spirit of kenyans, off course the signature fried fish, with variants of coconut fish all with a juicy block of ugali lentils, very organized efficient and convenient and consistent in service delivery, good job guys keep it up, what i can personally appreciate is they do not compromise on quality, whcih is evident by the beeline of patrons
